Applications can be made for compensation for injuries suffered as a result of criminal activity. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) covers these events for England, Scotland and Wales, and aim to compensate those who have suffered injury as a result of crime, whether their injuries are mental or physical. The service that they provide is free but it can be a long process to recoup compensation and it can be of great benefit to have legal assistance to aid you in progressing your claim.
Obviously depending on the severity of the injuries suffered it might be that the person who has suffered the injury is unable to carry out the claim and needs somebody to do it on their behalf. This is clearly a case that might require this. and CICA have forms on their website to allow you to do this.
If you need advice on making a claim to CICA then contact the injury lawyers and see if we can help you with your claim for compensation.
