The Chinese toddler fell into the blades of an industrial mixing machine when she was at work with her father. The terrified youngster had been starring into the animal feed machines moving parts when she fell in and screamed.
Luckily workers saw her, and managed to turn off the machine after she has disappeared under it. They then found the girl trapped in an awkward position.
Fire fighters were called to the scene and had to cut the toddler free. It took them 40 minutes to cut her from the factory in longyan, Fujian.
Her father Qiu Qinglin said: “She was playing by herself around the stirrer machine. I saw her bend over the edge of the machine, looking down to see the stirring blades working.”
Fire fighter, Liu Xiaodong said: “When we electrically cutting the machine up we had to cover the little girl with a cloth as the scene may have terrified her.”
When freed the toddler was taken to hospital, where it was discovered that she had miraculously only broken her leg.
When commenting on the story viewers in the UK were outraged that her father left her to happily stare into the blades of the machine. If this happened in the UK the father would have probably sued the company, and they would have then been shut down for breaching health and safety laws.
However, this is China so our laws don’t apply. It’s a miracle that the two-year-old walked away with a minor injury, she’s lucky to be alive.
If you have suffered from an injury at work in the past three years and it wasn’t your fault then you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
