Theme parks are a huge attraction in the UK with thousands of us visiting them each year. They give us a thrill that we would not be able to feel any other way. Some of us have our favourite types of rides, such as roller coasters, and others love them all. Some of us choose to stay away and watch from a distance. Whatever you do at a theme park they make for a great day out, if done in the right weather conditions.
Some people that choose to stay away from rides do so because they are afraid that an accident might happen, or they don’t trust the rides. All rides at theme parks are regularly checked to make sure they stick to health and safety regulations. If they fail any of their tests, the public will not be allowed to use them.
There have been occasions when people have been injured on rides at theme parks. Fortunately such disastrous accidents are very rare; perhaps someone should tell the director of the movie, Final Destination, that!
If you do become involved in an accident at a theme park you should report to a member of staff immediately. When we say theme park accidents, we don’t necessarily mean falling out of a ride. A person could trip or fall on a spillage at the theme park, or may suffer from food poisoning whilst eating there.
Like with any accident you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. Medics will then be able to assess your injuries and carry out the necessary arrangements to help you recover. You should also inform your doctor how you suffered from such injuries; they will then make a note of this in your medical records and it will act as evidence if you do choose to make an injury compensation claim.
