Have you ever questioned the reason why winding country roads welcome the national speed limit?
It’s as though they’re creating a play ground for young drivers, an open invitation to come along and test out their brand new ‘speed machines’.
What they don’t realise is that what often comes along with the national speed limit, especially on quiet country lanes, is a car full of teenagers looking for fun. However, this often ends in tragedy as some drivers misjudge the road.
Country lanes, in some cases are an road traffic accident waiting to happen. With winter around the corner and the dark night’s drawing in, driver’s need to be taking more care.
There are many reasons for accidents on country roads, whether it be the sharp bends or narrow roads, the only way to drive safely on these is to be sensible with your speed.
However, in most cases it’s not only the road but the people using it you have to look out for. You usually always get one driver who wants to go faster. Whether they’re driving too close to you, or trying to overtake you when other cars are coming towards them. Either way they’re putting your life at risk.
