Rear End Shunt Road Accidents

A rear end shunt refers to a situation where a negligent driver collides into the rear of your car. This most commonly happens when the innocent party is sat stationery, and the negligent driver fails to take heed of the fact that traffic has stopped in front of him.

A common injury associated with these types of accidents is that of whiplash. Whiplash can be experienced by different people in different  – I have listed the common symptoms below:

  • Pain, stiffness and/or tenderness in the neck area
  • Reduced or even loss of mobility in the neck
  • Pins and needles type sensations in the arms
  • Recurrent  and severe headaches

Whiplash can be an extremely unpredictable injury, whereby your doctor will predict a recovery in 6 months, when 1 year down the line, you are still in pain. This is one of reasons why it is best to gain the advice of a specialist personal injury lawyer – as your claim is likely to be worth more if you have suffered for a year as opposed to 6 months.

Another reason why it is advisable to gain the advice of a personal injury lawyer is that it is more than likely you have a valid personal injury claim. It is these types of accidents where it is fairly apparent that fault lies with the other driver, so liability is often admitted relatively quickly, and the claim is settled faster.

Once the claim is underway, many good law firms are able to arrange private medical treatment at no cost to you. At The Injury Lawyers, we are able to offer private treatment such as physiotherapy, osteopathic treatment, or even chiropractic assistance at the very early stages of your claim. We do this as we understand the pain that our clients are suffering, and the often lengthy NHS waiting lists which they may have to wait on to receive any relief from their pain.

If you require any advice from our team here at The Injury Lawyers we are available until 10pm on week day nights and from 9am until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday to give you free legal advice.
