Here’s a step by step guide on how to start a claim for personal injury compensation with The Injury lawyers!
As a firm of specialist personal injury lawyers with years of happy clients and thousands of pounds in compensation won, we take the hassle and fuss away to make the claims process as easy as possible. Unlike many other traditional law firms, our unique way of working ensures that you get the best payout in the quickest time possible.
Step 1 – Reporting and Medical Help
It’s good to report an accident if you have had it in a supermarket or other public place, or at work, for example. You should be able to complete an Accident Report Form which can help the claims process as it means the other side has some knowledge of the accident. This can make initiating investigations with them easier.
See your GP or go to a walk in centre or hospital as soon as possible for medical help. You may not necessarily need any treatment or advice, but it’s wise to go as this can help your claim if your medical records are ever needed as part of the claims process for evidence.
Step 2 – Evidence
For your own sake, take photos of whatever caused your accident, or photos of injuries, and keep records of receipts for anything you have paid out as a result of the claim or injury – like medication. Keep your wage slips as we may need these to recover lost earnings from time off work.
Keep a file of anything hat may be useful – the more evidence you have can make it much easier to settle your claim.
Step 3 – Leave the rest to Us!
All you really need to do now is contact us and let us do the rest for you! You don’t have to fill in lengthy forms or even wait for the paperwork to land on your doorstep to start a claim. If you’re happy with the terms of our agreement which we can advise of in the initial call, you can instruct us on the very first call and we can take the information we need to get a claim submitted to the other side.
It really is as simple as that!
Normally the only other thing you’ll need to do is attend a medical appointment we will arrange for you which is used to value your claim for compensation. If you need physiotherapy or other forms of treatment, we will want to organise this for you on a private basis and get it charged to the other side, and we’d always recommend having treatment if it’s needed. That’s normally the only other thing you may need to do.
