For most firms, offering a 100% compensation is now a thing of the past. The government decided to change the law last April and stopped lawyers recovering all of their legal fees from the other side. To add salt to the wounds, they also slashed the amount of fees a lawyer can recover to a mere fraction of what it used to be.
So is there such a thing as a 100% compensation agreement anymore? Or is it just a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that you’ll never find?

Irrelevant of your perception of lawyers and legal fees, we have historically been able to charge a reasonable rate based on the work that we do. Now, it’s all about fixed legal fees so lawyers have to stick to very tight budget regimes.
The result is that most other law firms cannot afford to offer you a 100% agreement. The legal fees we are allowed to get are just too low. But we can afford to still offer you a 100% compensation agreement for most types of claims, like work accident, public liability claims, and many others.
How can we afford to do this?
We take on and win high volumes of cases – a lot more than many other law firms. It’s simple economies of scale, and it’s the reason Tesco and Asda can afford to sell products at cheaper prices than local independent shops. The more you sell, the cheaper you can sell them at.
Clients have only ever come to us directly for our services, so we have never been involved in the referral fee system that was banned in April as well. Many law firms have been relying on paying for claims from insurers and agencies which have likely reduced their income personally as a firm. The referral fees were extortionate – you could sell a claim for £1,000.00!

How does our 100% Compensation pledge 4U Work?
It’s simple – we recover what legal fees we are still allowed to from the other side and so long as you abide by the terms and conditions of our agreement, we will agree to waive the Success Fee charge which is the percentage firms are now taking from their clients. A law firm can take up to 25% from their payout, but we will cap it at 0% (i.e. nothing) so you don’t lose any of your payout.
The other thing lawyers are taking is a premium for insurance – but we self insure the case and you don’t pay the premium.
