Martin Bare, president of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers), recently stated that more should be done to help praise those employers who put greater emphasis on the health and safety of their workers and reduce the risks of an accident at work happening.
Lower Accident at Work Cases
Companies who take health and safety in the workplace seriously should be publicly praised and there insurers should offer incentives to help reduce premiums to conscientious employers.
Bare also added that having a system in place that rewards companies that actively reduce the chance of injury in the workplace through health and safety management would create a domino effect where other companies would follow suit reducing the increasing number of workplace injuries and deaths.
Apil have taken their proposal to the government in the hope of improving health and safety in the workplace.
