13 People Confirmed Dead After Plane Crash

Although air travel is the safest means of transport, with the least amount of accidents, it doesn’t mean it’s invincible. At least 13 people have been confirmed dead after a plane owned by state-run airline Conviasa crashed in south Venezuela on Monday.

A report with the Daily Mail said that the plane was carrying 51 people when it crashed shortly after take-off in the eastern city of Puerto Ordaz. The plane went down on the property of the state-run Sidor steel foundry.

An emergency official told Venezuelan that rescue workers were helping with injured victims, however he did not say how many had survived. Garces said the plane was heading to Margarita Island when it crashed for reasons that were unclear. Forty-three passengers and four crew members were aboard the plane when it crashed.

RTA claim involving learner drivers

If you’ve been involved in a road traffic accident (RTA) with a learner driver that’s caused you injury and it wasn’t your fault then you may be entitled to claim compensation!

A lot of drivers are unaware of the fact that learner drivers, even though they’re less experienced, still owe the same standard of care as fully qualified drivers when using the road. However, other road users are still expected to treat learner cars with caution if they approach them on the roads.

This means giving them plenty of space when using the road, and being patient with them. Although a lot of us do get annoyed when we get stuck behind a learner driver, what we all seem to forget is that the person in the car in front used to be us, however many years ago.

Cauda Equina Syndrome Claims

Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) is a serious condition which is caused by the compression of the nerves in the lower portion of the spinal canal. Medics use a number of red flags when diagnosing the syndrome, this makes them aware of the seriousness of the disease.

CES is caused by the significant narrowing of the spinal canal, it compresses the nerve roots below the level of the spinal cord. This means that nerves may become trapped, or unable to function properly in the process. There are numerous causes of CES that have been recorded:

Toddler Needs 200 Stitches After Attacked by Family Dog

A toddler is today recovering in hospital after receiving 200 stitches to his face following an attack by his grandmother’s dog. The two-year-old was mauled by the family collie as he stroked the animal.

Joshua Mann’s parents have been told that he will need further surgery before he can return home to Brockworth, near Gloucester. His mother, Lisa Mann, 23, told Sky News she was shocked when she saw her son in hospital.

“I thought he was going to die. He looked in so much pain.” She said. “”All I wanted to do was pick him up and hold him, but I wasn’t allowed. Joshua was stroking the sheep dog, Rossie, when she jumped up and latched onto his face. Rossie pulled him to the ground and wouldn’t release him. His dad and others ran over and started punching the dog to get him to let go. You just need to be more aware, if a dog is not brought up around children, if they’re not used to them, they can just go,” Miss Mann said. “People naturally think its pitbulls, rottweilers and the other dangerous breeds, but this was a collie. It’s not usual that a collie would do this, but he wasn’t brought up with children and snapped.”

Girl, 11, Dies at Friend’s Birthday Party

An eleven-year-old girl was killed when she was thrown off a banana boat, at a children’s birthday party. It is thought that Mari-Simon Cronje hurled forwards and smashed into the back of the speedboat which was towing the 20ft inflatable. The 22-year-old watersports instructor, who was driving the speedboat at the time was arrested but has now been released on bail.

A banana boat is an inflatable yellow craft, that is towed by a speed boat and reach’s a speed of up to 35mph. Riders of the inflatable sit one in front of the other, whilst the driver of the speed boat tries to bounce the banana by doing sharp turns. The idea is that all passengers of the inflatable will eventually fall off into the water.

Mari-Simon lived with her wealthy South African-born parents Andries and Ancia, along with her brother Andre-Pierre, in a £1 million five-bedroom home in Putney. She was a pupil at Ibstock Place School, a private £4,000-a-term day school on the edge of Richmond Park, in Roehampton, South west London.
